Ignoring the stench of blood and tears she ran for her life towards the unseen incandescent hope of freedom. She prayed to Allah that the men nearby wouldn’t hear her thumping heart which was beating so fast as if it was about to burst. Suddenly she felt hot fluid gushing from her head. She smiled at the glistening crimson blood, proud for paying her part in achieving the holy land, and closed her eyes, forever.
