Introduction
Career paths are not always straight. For some, growth comes with challenges, mystery, and poor working conditions. Hammad‘s experience mirrors the period of struggle, starting from his induction into TRC Company on 18th October 2021, that eventually evolved into a period of growth and development.
Then came unpaid salary, toxic work culture, resignations after resignations, unemployment, and finally a new start at SUM Group. He had a rough early career with tons of temptation thrown at him while he tested his patience, that all gave him fortitude and new opportunities.
Joining TRC Company With High Expectations
Hammad, like many professionals at the beginning or middle of their careers, joined TRC Company to gain experience and establish a career. You start a new job with dreams, hope and expectations of rewards.
Hammad was dedicated to learning and support from an early on. He was at the company for about four months and did his job. But it did not play out this way.
Salary was one of the first big issues to arise. He was supposed to receive a salary for two months, and although he worked four months, only the first payment crossed the fourth one. And even years later, that debt was never paid off.
Unpaid salary is more than a monetary problem for any worker. It is related to trust, confidence and job security.
Workplace Issues and an Unprofessional Workplace
Salary delays were not the only problem. Hammad also had problems with the work environment.
According to his enjoyment, employees often behaved disrespectfully, which made the surroundings annoying. A healthy place of business must inspire collaboration, professionalism, and mutual respect, that is not what he encountered.
As those troubles continued, he attempted to surrender multiple times. But on every occasion he submitted a resignation, control would arrange meetings before approving it and convince him to stay.
As this persisted, he tried to resign. But each time he resigned, the company would schedule meetings prior to approving his resignation and he would be coerced into continuing.
In the hope that things would change, he stayed. But these problems persisted, such as poor treatment and salary-related issues.
This showed that he had no future in the company.
Resignations and More Promised are Broken
Finally, Hammad resigned again, and his request was granted.
Once he resigned, he began to pursue his outstanding two months’ salary. He was repeatedly told that it would be paid between certain dates, especially the 15th-18th of the month.
He waited, trusting those commitments.
But no salary came.
Some time later, he heard that the business might be closing or facing other difficulties. He went back to the office for clarification.
He was reportedly told by an owner that his salary was “blocked” and would be paid after 15 days.
Once again, he waited.
And once again, nothing happened.
He kept going to the office, only to be ignored. At times, he did not even get information at the gate. What should have been a straightforward process of receiving payments for his labour turned into a protracted process.
Unemployed and Uncertain
Resigning from a bad job does not automatically resolve issues, particularly when there is money owed.
At the equal time, Hammad turned into handling unemployment.
He attended interviews, looked for opportunities, and tried to move ahead, however results did now not come easily. Like many process seekers, he often heard terms including “we will inform you later” or “we will touch you”, without follow-up.
That period brought financial and professional uncertainty.
There is a lot of disappointment with career gaps and job searches, let alone when they are done alongside unresolved problems with a former employer. But difficult periods often become turning points.
For Hammad, that turning point arrived through a new opportunity.
Starting Again at SUM Group
Later, through his cousin, Hammad found an opportunity at SUM Group.
The salary was lower than in his previous company, but it offered him something more precious at the time a second chance.
Career development is sometimes not about finding the right opportunity but taking the one you have when times are a little difficult.
Joining the SUM Group marked a fresh chapter.
Instead of remaining stuck in frustration, focused on getting moving forward, gaining experience, and contributing wherever he could.
That decision proved meaningful over time.
Growth Through Persistence
An opportunity that began as a small one morphed into something very big.
Sum Group began expanding and taking on larger projects. Gradually, the company expanded into larger-scale ventures and began taking on projects.
That increase is a sign of an important lesson setbacks do not determine long-term victory.
A shift to more new opportunities was built through continued work after workplace challenges, unpaid salaries and a challenging transition.
Growth did not happen overnight.
It was achieved through patience, adaptation and persistence.
Lessons From Hammad’s Experience
1. All Workplaces Are Not Made Equally in the Eyes of Employees
The employer does not define an individual’s worth. A toxic environment, at times, is an indication of what is wrong with the organization rather than a problem with the employee.

3. The Smaller Opportunities Are A Pathway To Bigger Ones

4. Career Growth Is Rarely Linear
Behind every success story there are typically some dirty chapters in the lives of people that you do not see. It is possible that challenges will become a part of your professional development.
5. Resilience Creates Momentum

From Setback to Progress
How you remember the TRC chapter is frustration, wrath and uncertainty on salary issues.
But that wasn’t the end of the road.
It was part of a rebuilding narrative.
The journey was transformed from the struggle to pay bills to working in a company that was growing and working on bigger projects and AI projects.
This was not because the problems went away.
It happened because he kept moving forward.
