Humans face various medical conditions in their lives. However, some of those medical conditions are specific to the woman only. According to the anatomy and physiology of their bodies, women can suffer health problems for many reasons. The most common female health problems are PCOS, breast cancer, PMS, UTI, and pregnancy-related diseases.

Polycystic ovarian syndrome – PCOS

It is a metabolic and hormonal condition in which excessive androgen activity leads to menstrual irregularities. It affects 10% of women of reproductive age. PCOS women’s health issues symptoms are obesity, hirsutism, acne, and oligomenorrhea.

Not just that it affects the body clinically, but it also impacts women’s psychological or mental health. If a woman is suffering from obesity, she has a concern about her body presentation. Moreover, her self-esteem goes down, which eventually gives growth to other diseases. Secondly, there is a question raised about her fertility which also broke women internally. Many myths are prevailing in our society that needs to be addressed. 

Myths that are taking over female health issues need to be stopped. Proper education and useful guidelines are long-term solutions for taking down these myths.

Myth # 01 

PCOS Makes Women Infertile

Every woman suffering from PCOS doesn’t have fertility issues. However, they can conceive naturally while having complications in their menstrual cycle. PCOS is a curable medical health issue. Statistically, about 75% to 80% of women with PCOS can ovulate after proper treatment, and a conception rate of 22% per cycle has been reported increasing the chance of getting pregnant. 

Myth # 02 

All Overweight Women Have PCOS

There are many other reasons which cause obesity. Not all women with body fat and overweight have PCOS. 

Myth # 03 

Cyst In Ovaries 

It’s not necessary to have a cyst in the ovaries. Some cysts emerge naturally, which goes within a few months without treatment.   

Myth # 04 

Irregular Menses Are Due To PCOS

Menses may have an irregular timing in the starting years which is absolutely fine. Besides, the irregular cycle is not forced by PCOS every time. It might be caused by several other problems like thyroid disorder, malnutrition, being overweight, etc.

Breast Cancer

Breast cancer is considered the most common health issue faced by women. Also, it is a cause of death in middle-aged women in western countries. Moreover, Pakistan is among the Asian countries with the highest breast cancer incidents. 1 in 9 women is at risk of breast cancer in their lifetime. 

The reason behind this is Pakistan is a developing country with low resources. Although it has a cure, treating this cancer is very challenging. Women have to face the whole journey, and even after getting the complete treatment, it leaves women in Perplexion.

Further, the treatment leaves scars, no breasts, and uneven breasts, which affect women’s bodies. In such situations, she raised the question about her body; her norms and standards get shattered. At this point in their life, they need more support, care, and love. These are some tips to stay motivated about your body.

Stop Comparison

Stop comparing yourself with your previous body and others’ bodies. Remember that you fought cancer, the deadliest disease; indeed, it’s your victory.

Stop Setting Standards

Setting standards by watching social media or any other platform is not a good idea. Love your body the way it is.

Connect With Survivor’s 

Stay connected with breast cancer survivors. Stay communicated and motivated. It will help to stay optimistic.

Connect With Doctor

Seek help from your doctor and tell him about your concerns. Discuss your problem entirely and the solution for it. 

Premenstrual Syndrome 

It is a physical and emotional situation that women face every month to a certain degree. Studies have shown about 80 to 90% of women experience at least one sign of PMS. Additionally, about 2.5% to 3% have symptoms severe enough to affect their lifestyle. It shows diverse symptoms, which range in different categories in women.

Women start experiencing these symptoms two weeks before the menses. It includes mood swings, depression, breast tenderness, bloating, and irritability.

How to cope with PMS symptoms?

Balanced Diet

A diet with a portion of vegetables, fruits, and meat completes your body’s daily requirements. Stick to a healthy balanced diet. 

Meditation 

It’s an excellent way to calm your nerves. It helps you to focus on the present and enhances the skills for managing stress. 

Yoga

It stabilizes your body physically as well as mentally. Further, it helps in increasing body flexibility and muscle strength. 

Walking 

Walking is the best exercise. It maintains your stamina for the long run. It helps in reducing body weight and makes your bones strong.
